Holy Communion

The sacrament of First Eucharist or First Holy Communion welcomes children to the Table of the Lord for the first time. This is a sacrament of initiation in which we receive the body and blood of Christ. The Eucharist empowers us to go out to others and the world with the same spirit and mission of Jesus Christ. It is offered to parishioners' children from Year 3 onwards who have celebrated First Reconciliation.

The program takes place in Term Two of the school year. There is a leaders' training evening with volunteer parents, an essential parent meeting, enrolment in Sunday Mass followed by four, one hour home-based small group sessions for both child and parent.

Enrolments:  Letters are available through St Mark's School, the catechists at Drummoyne Public School, the Church foyer and also the parish centre three weeks before the end of Term One. Enrolments close one week prior to the end of Term One.

Celebrations are held at Saturday Evening 6 pm Mass or Sunday 9 am Mass over three consecutive weekends in June.
